The summary of the book:
The story began with two girls, Nina and Jennifer, dedicated and very efficient helping their communities with social project. They decided to share their practical experience in a book that became a guide and a benchmark to help the ones who want to be socially responsible. Now they have created Dogoodwell.org
We’re in the midst of a revolution. We have entered into an Era of Social Responsibility. Students and young adults are driving this revolution forward, committed to investing our talents and creativity in solving the problems we see everyday on the news and in our communities. This Era of Social Responsibility is motivated not by money, power, or even celebrity, but by a new currency – impact.
They believe that everyone can make an impact, so they started by writing a book to fuel and maximize impact. Do Good Well: Your Guide to Leadership, Action, and Social Innovation shows that by taking action and harnessing creativity and innovation, you can chip away at daunting social problems, lifting people out of poverty, improving health, protecting the environment, advancing human rights, and increasing opportunity – you can lead lasting social progress. It’s a practical, personalized guide to leadership that bridges the gap between good intention and lasting results, between doing good and doing good well.
ABOUT THE BOOK
The book gives the vision, method, and tools for social change; this site provides the final critical component to make an impact: the network. To strengthen the messages in the book and help others put them into practice, we launched dogoodwell.org, which we hope will unite young leaders and strengthen their force in driving the Era of Social Responsibility forward. The site also serves as a vehicle for investing net royalties from book sales back into the community through Do Good Well Fund, a social impact fund that will invest in young leaders with innovative ideas for solving today’s most pressing social problems.
